Adsense Bloggers
Darren Rowse over on Problogger has posted a poll on how much income bloggers are making from adsense per monthy, on average.
Unsurprisingly, a huge number are making very little from adsense, to the tune of a few cents per day. There seems to be a fair spread over the incremental amounts, and then a surprising jump upwards in the +$10,000 category. Perhaps discounting 25% of those votes as being people living in a dream world, its still a number that many people will be jealous of.
As many people have picked up on, the stats themselves need to be put in context to get a true picture of what they mean. The following would be beneficial (in no particular order):
- Number of blogs/websites using adsense
- Blog niche
- Length of time Blog has existed
- Frequency of updates
- number of authors on the blog
- Other advertising stream sin use
- growth of income over time
- number of adverts per page vs. page length
- total number of pages the blog contains
With the above answered, it may be possible to map out a common trend amongst all the high earning sites. To take a wild stab in the dark, I would guess that the blogs earning $10k+ a month have niche sites that rank well in google/yahoo/msn, that have regularly updated/added content, and have existed for over two years.
Any site that is earing $10k+ a month is not well established is likely to be unable to maintain the income level long term.
