PSP Firmware 2.5 running Homebrew

Great news that Fanjita has got Tetris running on a PSP with firmware version 2.5. Fanjita has utilised the GTA exploit to get the game running. Currently they game doesn’t run on firmware 2.6 due to a small technical problem, but it looks like this is being worked on and hopefully a full release for all firmware versions will be made sometime soon.

Once Fanjita gets the game up and running on firmware 2.6, it will surely open the floodgates for other homebrew fanatics, who will be able to build on Fanjita’s work to develop other applications for the PSP. I’m seriously looking forward to the day I can begin running some of the homebrew software on my PSP, without having to downgrade the firmware.

  3. Wassim, you will need to own (or borrow) Grand Theft Auto:Liberty City Stories to be able to get homebrew working on your PSP. The current exploits use the save game function to get in through the back door and run homebrew software.
