PSP 2.6 Homebrew List

Please note: This list is now out of date as the new eLoader version 0.9.7 (Super Bock) has been released and superceeds all other versions. To get the latest version of the eLoader, use this link from the PSPUpdates forum. The latest and most stable version will be at the top. Currently the release version is v0.9.7 codenamed Super Bock, but this may get replaced shortly, so check regularly for new releases.

I came across the following list on the QJ.net Forums in a thread started by Vhero. I’ve replicated it here to ensure it gets the visibility it deserves, as its a useful aid to those of you looking for homebrew that will run on Firmware 2.6. This list applied to the v0.9.0 eLoader version, since then homebrew compatability with the eLoader has improved dramatically. If you are not using the latest version of the eLoader, download it now as this will solve most compatability issues.

If you are still using the outdated eLoader for whatever reason, this list may prove useful.

The list contains homebrew that has been successfully run on Firware 2.6, so if you PSP is upto date and in need of some games and applications to run, then this list is a good starting point.

Please Note: The links marked with an * are the rapidshare download locations, and should be used where possible to conserve the bandwidth of the personal sites hosting homebrew applications and games for the PSP.

If you are running PSP Firmware 2.6 and have managed to get homebrew working that is not listed, post a comment with the name and download url and I will add it to the list.

Please report any broken links as well, so the list can be kept nice and tidy.

  7. Victor,

I’d look at downgrading your PSP to firmware 1.5, which will mean you no longer have to use an eLoader.

Alternatively, check out Noobz.eu for details on getting the eLoader working.

  13. Joe, I’d seriously look at getting your 2.6 firmware PSP downgraded to 1.5 and then back up to 3.40OE (Open Edition). This will allow you to play homebrew software (such as those in the above list) natively from the PSP XMB Game menu without needing to use the eLoader and the game Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

If you insist in remaining on firmware 2.6, make sure you are using the eLoader and an unpatched (ie old) version of GTA:LCS. The exploit that the eLoader uses to run was fixed in later GTA:LCS releases.
