PSP and RSI

A quick question for all you Sony PSP addicts outthere – Do you find your hands ache are prolonged use of your PSP?

The reason I ask is that lately, after having played for an hour or so, I find my right hand cramps up and can feel uncomfortable, and the only way to stop it is to put the PSP down and flex my hand a few times.

I’ve found this generally happens when playing Need For Speed : Most Wanted, as I try and span the accelerator and the Nitro button with my thumb, while still being able to get the right shoulder button with my index finger. Because my hand is quite large (a span of 8 inches thumb to little finger) I find I have to bend my hand slightly to get it to sit on the correct button combinations.

Maybe its because I’m at the upper end of the hand scale, and if I was ten and had smaller hands it wouldn’t be an issue. Not that I’m planning on sueing Sony for discomfort caused by using their product, after all its my choice to use it for the length of time I do, and I should be responsible for the consequences such use causes, but I wonder if this is a wide spread issue or just for people like me who have large hands?

    Yes!

I noticed the symptoms as I work for an RSI-related company. I only get a problem after a session on the PSP.

It has gotten to the point where I have decided to get rid of my PSP because of the pain in my wrist coming down from my index finger and my thumb.
