PSP Emulator for the PC

I’ve had a few emails off people asking if I know of any PC based PSP emulators. At the moment, the only one I know of is the PSP emulator that developers get when they purcahse the PSP Dev Kit from Sony. This emulator is used to mimic the PSP functions and allow developers to create content for the PSP without having to use a standalone PSP.

At the moment, there are no third party PSP emulators that I am aware of, although I can understand there being a market for one, its unlikely that an emulator will come out of any official development studios, as Sony would be quick to put a stop to it, in the same way that Bleem was stopped before it was fully marketed.

A PSP emulator would only harm the PSP market, as it would be a means to enable PSP games to be pirated and played without the PSP. That is of no benefit to anyone connected to the PSP, whether its the end consumer, the game developers, Sony, or the PSP community as a whole.
