PSP Future developments

It looks like the announcement of the USB camera for the PSP, due in the autumn, wasn’t the only PSP related information released by Ken Kutaragi.

It looks like PSP owners are in for a treat, with a PSone Emulator being officially announced, along with the ability to download legacy titles over the internet. This move by Sony may well be a stab in the dark at some of the homebrew developers, who have beenm working on a PSone emulator for sometime, as well as a way for Sony to add game content to the PSP quickly and cost effectively, without the overhead of new developments.

The next firmware release, expected this Spring, is said to bring Macromedia Flash 6 functionlaity to the PSP’s web browser, an improved RSS feed that will allow internet radio to not only be played but saved as well, along with the possibility of video streaming using RSS technology, although this is not expected until the Summer.
