PSP Rumours Explained

PSP Vault has done a good job pulling together a list of all the rumours that are flying around about the Sony PSP and the future release of both firmware upgrades and the possibility of a PSP2.

You can see the details of what is and what isn’t coming to the PSP this year here according to PSP Vault.

Most of it makes sense, especially given the recent statements that have come from Sony about its future PSP plans. Some of the rumours can neither be confirmed or denied, but it would seem that the stories about a PSP2 hitting the shelves this year is less and less likely to happen.

Perhaps the biggest disappointment from a firmware perspective is that Sony are going to roll out up to three separate updates over the coming months. This is going to potentially give Sony three tries at patching any security flaws that come to light with each release to stop the homebrew community, while retaining enough goodies to provide some incentive for firmware upgrades to be taken up.

NOTE: If you are asking a PSP related question, please state your firmware version, as this will usually impact on the response you get.
