Further adding to the rumour mill, Ain’t it Cool has a few comments about Sony’s PSP2 plans, believing there will be a PSP2 released for Christmas 2006, with

• A streamlined (thinner) shell
• lighter (in weight, not a fag lighter, I assume)
• 4 gigs of (flash?) memory
• A camera

Whether Ain’t it Cool’s post is on the money is up to you to decide, but I would guess at it not being too far off the mark, although the camera functionality is still debatable – it fits in with the mdei/wi-fi mode of the PSP but may be treading on the toes of the phone/camera dept.

Its all still supposition anyway, Christmas 2006 has a nice ring to it for a release date, but with Sony trying to get the PS3 to market they may not want to try and release both products at the same time for fear of disrupting festive sales should there be product/production delays.
