PSP Deal or No Deal Game

DarkShadow88, from the PSP Updates forum, has released a PSP Homebrew version of Deal or No Deal that runs using the LuaPlayer.

Deal or No Deal (known as So Do We Have a Deal or What? for this PSP version) is a gameshow that is aired on Channel 4 in the UK (hosted by the legend that is Noel Edmonds) and on NBC in the USA.

The UK version is as follows:

There are 22 boxes, each of which containing a value of money ranging from one penny to £250,000. When you start the game, you pick a box. You then must choose five boxes to open. Based on the boxes you have opened, the banker will offer you an amount of money for your box. You may then choose to accept his offer (Deal) or reject it (No Deal). If you choose No Deal, you then have to open three more boxes, after which you will get another offer. This continues until you are down to two boxes (your box and one that hasn’t been picked). At this point, not only do you get an offer, but you also get the opportunity to swap your box with the other remaining box. If you choose no deal after the last offer, you get the amount in your box. If you choose to swap boxes, you get the amount in the other box.

I spent some time last night playing this game and its infuriating to say the least. First go and I won £50, with the banker offering at one point £4800, the highest it ever got.

Deal or No Deal is game based on luck, to a large extent, but is addictive and keeps you coming back for more, trying to beat the banker. This PSP version is well executed and fun to play. If you are a fan of the TV show, or just fancy your luck playing something a little different, its worth a download.
