PSP eLoader Official New Website

I’ve been a little late catching this news item, but it seems that Fanjita (Fanjita.org) and Ditlew (Ditlew.dk), creators of the eLoader for launching homebrew applications and games on the PSP have moved the eLoader over to a new website specifically for it.

The domain http://www.noobz.eu/ is going to be the new home for the eLoader. This eliminates the bias that was put on the eLoader in the early days when it was hosted on Fanjita’s personal website.

“For a long time we’ve been a bit uncomfortable with the fact that the official home for eLoader was fanjita.org, even though it was a joint project between Ditlew and Fanjita. Finally we came up with a team name that we think fits us perfectly, and so the new domain, Noobz.eu, is born.

Noobz.eu will be the official home of eLoader, and all our joint projects, from now on. The old fanjita.org links will continue to work for a while, but will eventually be withdrawn.”

The name noobz (not a name I’m entirely convinced by) requires little explanation to anyone who has spent time in the many PSP related forums, but for those who don’t understand the origins, check out the Wikipedia explanation of noobs to get a general idea. Replacing the ‘s’ from noobs with a ‘z’ is possibly a reference to the general underground software movement normally associated with hackers, but thats probably me reading too much into it.

As for the choice of noobz as a domain name, I’d have preferred one of the following readily available domains, but then I am a bit of an old fashioned kind of guy, and directing people to a more professional sounding domain is always preferrable from my point of view -

  • eloader.org
  • PSPeLoader.org (or .com/.co.uk/.net etc)
  • GTAeLoader.org (or .com/.co.uk/.net etc)
