PSP ‘Greatest Hits’ Games

News coming out of E3 is that Sony are going to begin releasing PSP games on a ‘Greatest Hits’ label. In other words releasing games previously sold at full price on a budget label. Similar to the Platinum series for the PS2, where 6 months or so after the game is first released at full price it gets re-released at a lower price ($19.99 USD) to further improve sales.

This is great news for PSP owners, especially those who don’t have the cash to pay for full priced games when they are first released.

The first titles to be released on this label are :

  • Ape Escape
  • ATV Offroad
  • Hot Shots
  • Twisted Metal
  • WipeOut Pure

All of the above have sold over 250,000 copies. This announcment came on the back of Sony reporting that they had shipped over 17 million PSP units.
