I came across this website in passing and was amazed to see their PSP LED Mod article.

This mod adds LED’s to the shoulder buttons on the PSP, and can also be used to add lighting to the D-Pad area if required. If this sounds strange, take a look at the website for photos of this mod in action.

As they state, this is a fairly complex mod based on the fact that all the parts are small and the space available in the PSP is tight.

This is definitely a difficult mod, the pieces are small and the spaces are tight proceed at your own risk.
