PSP Firmware 2.6 Exploit Found

The interent is awash yet again with a rumour about the Sony PSP, and this time its all to do with a possible exploit being found in the Firmware version 2.6. The implications of this are as yet unknown, but it looks like the exploit uses an overflow bug in the firmware which was added by Sony in the firmware 2.5/2.6 release.

More information can be found on the PSPCave website. Being a firmware 2.6 user, this looks like it could hold some interesting possibilities for my PSP.

It looks like Fanjita and Ditlew, of eLoaded fame will be looking at this exploit along with hitchhikr and Neurol who have put together a Proof of Concept of this exploit.
