PSP Game – Lumines
I’ve spent a few days away again, and this time I decided to invest in one of the PSP’s most famous games – Lumines.
Lumines can now be picked up from various online retailers for around half its original retail price, which makes this puzzle game an absolute bargin, in my opinion.
For those of you who have not experienced Lumines, the concept is relatively simple. Rotating blocks of four squares, each coloured in one of two colours descends from the top of the screen and you must rotate and slot them into place, making squares of four blocks of the same colour.
Similar in some ways to the many puzzle games of the past, such as the legendary Tetris, that require quick thinking and ability to operate under pressure, there is an ever constant stream of blocks requiring placement.
As well as the straight forward last as long as you can games, there are puzzle tasks that require certain shapes to be formed, and it is this that has had me hooked on my PSP all weekend. Once you’ve solved one, the next presents itself and keeps you coming back for one more attempt.
Like many classic games, Lumines on the PSP has that great playability that keeps you coming back for more, time after time. My only regret is not having purchased it sooner.
I know this game…..
To me it equals hundreds of hours of my life I will never get back…..
