PSP Game Gangs of New York Leaked

Sony are counting the cost of a security leak that has seen BitTorrent websites spreading a beta version of the upcoming new PSP title Gangs of New York.

It would appear that the game has been leaked and rapidly put out on the file sharing networks, making it near impossible for Sony to contain the problem.

GamesIndustry.biz have got details of Sony’s current feelings on the matter -

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Sony spokesman David Wilson also warned consumers that the leaked version is incomplete and buggy.

“The version of Gangs Of London that you have brought our attention to here is a pre-production ‘preview’ version,” he revealed. “It is not the complete game and it has anomalies in the code since it hasn’t been through our QA process yet.”

I advise everybody to steer clear of pirated games as it does the PSP no favours in the long term, and I would certainly suggest that anyone contemplating obtaining a copy of Gangs of New York waits until the game can be purchased. There is little point in playing a game that is not complete, and has the possibility of crashing or being unstable.
