PSP Homebrew on 2.7/2.71 firmware

Great news for those PSP owners still using a native firmware version of 2.7/2.71, in that Fanjita and Ditlew have released a new version of their eLoader software that will run on these firmware versions.

This latest version, called Märzenbier (an Oktoberfest classic) brings limited kernel mode support to PSP’s running firmware 2.5 through to 2.71.

I’ve been so busy playing Syphon Filter that I’ve not had chance to fully investigate the recent goings-on in the world of homebrew software, but the release of this new eLoader might just tempt me to put Syphon Filter to one side and take a look at this latest offering.

Hopefully for those of us running firmware 1.5, this latest eLoader will run under devhook when emulating 2.71 (cannot see any reason why it shouldn’t), meaning that I could leave the PSP permanantly in 2.71 mode and still play some homebrew software.
