PSP Sales Increase

Looks like a ripple effect off the back of the PS3 launch has led to an increase in sales of both the Sony PS2 and the Sony PSP, SCEA (Sony Computer
Entertainment America) reporting a whopping 280% increase in sales of the PSP over the Thanksgiving break.

While this time of year is when hardware sales normally increase anyway, its great news that the PSP is making its way into more and more homes, which should be all the incentive needed for game developers to put some effort into creating new and exciting PSP titles.

There are also reports of software sales being up by 170%, which is understandable if increase in sales of the PSP are to be believed.

As for the PS3, that seems to be selling out as soon as shipments arrive in the US, so Playstation fans keen to get their hands on the new console have got to be quick to pick up one of the machines. I look forward to seeing how sales of the PS3 in europe go once its released over here. Given that the PS3 is not going to be available prior to Christmas, I wonder how many people will hold off spending money over the festive period in the hopes of picking up one of the first units to be available. It may be that those wanting a PS3 will look elsewhere for a quick fix over Christmas and delay purchasing a PS3 until well into the New Year.

Upgrade Complete

Ok, site upgrade has now been performed, and hopefully everything is working as it should be. If you come across any problems, if something has stopped working, or you just want to say hi and that you like the new design, drop me an email or alternatively, add a comment to this post.

The site may suffer moments of downtime as I tweak and alter a few elements, there are a few things I’m not to happy with at the moment, but these will be ironed out over the next few days.

Site upgrade

Over the next week or so the site is going to undergo a slight overhaul, with an upgrade to the latest Wordpress version, and a nice new front end being implemented. I’ll apologise now for any disruption to service, hopefully it will all go without any downtime, but you can never be sure in these matters….
