PSP Xflash homebrew for 3.03OE Custom Firmware

If you are running a custom PSP firmware such as 3.02OE-A/B or 3.03OE-A/2 you will be interested to hear that Art has now released a new version of the Xflash program that supports these custom firmwares.

xFlash can be used to maintain a number of PSP functions, such as flashing the topmenu_plugin, removing the Network Update option, or restoring the default XMB menu icons should you wish to revert your PSP back to standard.

You can grab the xFlash v18h files from DCEmu.

Installation of the xFlash program is the same as for all homebrew, in other words copy the files onto your Memory Stick Pro Duo, either into the GAME (if you are running 1.50 Kernel mode) or most likely the GAME150 folder if your are running 2.71SE, 3.02OE or 3.03OE.

As always, be careful when using this type of application, as it is writing to the flash memory on the PSP so has an element of risk. Having said that, I’ve been using xFlash for a few days to test it out and have had no problems. Just remember that your PSP battery should be fully charged and you should not under any circumstances remove the Memory Stick Pro Duo or turn off the PSP while using this kind of application.
