PocketGamer have got the heads up on the upcoming racing game TOCA Race Driver 3, which is going to have content specific to the PSP.

Available from the 16th February, this is one title thats on my ‘to buy’ list. I’ve enjoyed playing the previous TOCA game on the PSP alot, and in fact its one of those games I always seem to go back to when I fancy a bit of racing action.

While not perfect, the 2006 version of TOCA was seriously good fun, so Race Driver 3 has a lot to live upto.

World Challenge, the game’s main mode, remains in place of course, and offers a chance for players to perfect their racing expertise and then prove it on the circuits. Divided into five international championship tiers, budding virtual racers compete in skill tests, specialised events and race championships spanning a variety of racing styles.

The skill tests themselves have previously been summarised as a chance for players to showcase their racing prowess. As such, Bring It Home constructs a scenario requiring a player to successfully race a heavily damaged car for a race’s final few laps. Conversely, No Damage pits you against a selection of aggressive drivers and asks you to finish the race with as few bent body panels as possible.

Looks like there is going to be a wealth of new cars to drive as well, which is promising, especially if the realistic handling of the previous game is retained.
