PSP XMB Homebrew Wave Editing Software

DCEmu have got news of a homebrew PSP release from Vulpix. This homebrew relase allows you to edit the XMB wave effect on the PSP using an image editing program such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

I’ve not attempted to modify my PSP XMB wave effect yet, I’m still playing around with creating some custom XMB icons, but I may give this a go as it appears it requires little hex editing compared to the other XMB wave editing tutorials I’ve seen.

this softwre does require you have access to flash0 on your PSP, so its only really for anyone running a Dark_AleX custom firmware. Make sure you backup your files before you start doing any editing, and makes sure you understand the recovery process in case you corrupt something a brick your PSP.

  5. I’ve not seen anyone customise the XMB waves on the 3.71M33 firmware version. I’m assuming the file structure isdifferent, and therefore will not work on that firmware.
