PSP Gaming on Holiday
Firstly, apologies for the lack of updates over the last week or so. I’ve been on holiday, and decided to take a break from updating the site during my time off. I have been using my PSP however, especially when I took the family away for a few days R&R.
so what did I play while I was away? Well, I’m stiull struggling to break the grip of World Snooker Challenege 2007, which seems to draw me back in everytime I think I’ve managed to take the UMD out of the drive and put it back into its case.
I remember being this hooked on Archer McLeans Jimmy Whites Snooker years ago on the Atari ST, so it must be a Snooker game thing I have (I’m rubbish at playing the game for real however).
Other than WSC2007, I played a bit of Ridge Racer 2. Its a great game, looks nice, music is spot on, but I still can’t get over how little has changed between the first version and this second edition. If like me you’ve got both editions, you may well be asking yourself why you bothered, and didn;t just stick to the first game.
I took a few other games away with me – Splinter Cell Essentials and TOCA3, but didn’t have time to really get to grips with either. Splinter Cell I’ve played only briefly, and TOCA3 only got about 30 minutes of my time. I’m really hoping to get down to some serious playing of this game over the next couple of weeks, especially now the motor racing season has kicked off.
I was holding out for Test Drive Unlimited, but decided to get TOCA3 to fill the void while TDU is still not available to buy.
Taking a look at my PSP game collection, I was surprised at how many games I’ve got that rarely get played. I think its time to trade some in (something I’d originally been reluctant to do). I’ll have to investigate whether the trade in prices for second hand PSP games has improved since the last time I thought about it.

I think used PSP games – as well as most electronic stuff – sell for around 50% of the original price.

Of course it’s illegal. Actually, ISOs are available everywhere on the internet, so he wouldn’t have bought the UMDs in the first place if he’d been into the ISO thing.

Thanks for the comments.
I’m well aware of ISO’s and their availability on the internet, but its not something I tend to talk about on this site, nor is it something I support.
Unfortunately game piracy is rife across all gaming platforms, and it does the industry no good at all. I know that alot of gamers feel that the majority of games available are of a substandard quality and therefore piracy is used to justify ‘testing’ games before purchase, but few rarely go on and actually buy the games.
Anyway, good to see someone using the PSP to surf the web and post comments on the site – although I imagine it takes a while to load up this (and other) sites that don’t really cater for mobile devices (I guess I should provide a slimmed down version for the PSP surfer).
Cheers
Dave
