PSP XMB Icons – Shiny Again

I’ve put together a new XMB icon package for all you 3.03OE firmware users. This one is a nice and bright ‘shiny’ set of icons. Some are from a set of icons I discovered on the web, the rest are modified icons to fit the theme.

Download: Shiny-Again PSP XMB Icon Set
Download here : 3.30OE and 3.40OE version

Update: You can also grab the wallpaper and battery/volume graphics from here: Shiny-Again PSP XMB Extras. Simply copy the rco files into vsh/resource. The wallpaper you can either rename to 01-12.bmp and copy into vsh/resource (this will allow you to set the background as a theme and retain the XMB wave) or simply copy into the photo directory via a normal USB connection (non-Recovery Mode).

As always, use at your own risk, the topmenu_plugin.rco file needs to be copied into the vsh/resource directory in flash0 (use the recovery menu).

Love to hear your feedback on these icons. They do work best on plain coloured backgrounds for some reason, and nothing too dark.

Enjoy….

  9. Hum…I have a 3.40oe firmware, and everytime I try to put all the .rco files for this and a couple other of your XMB themes in the vsh/resource directory, and then restart, I get the custom opening, but it freezes and then finally powers off. I’ve tried making more space on the flash0: and redownloaded a couple times…same result. Replacing them with the orginal .rco fixes.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  11. Jeff, I’m not sure what can be going on there, sounds like somehing has got corrupted along the way. Restore the original files and then try just using the topmenu_plugin.rco from one of the 3.40OE themes and see if that works on its own (they’re the icons). If they do, keep adding the different rco files one at a time until it stops working.

If it doesn’t work at all, I can honestly say I don’t understand it, as I’ve been using these themes on 3.40OE with no problem. I assume you got the 3.40OE versions (Get them here.

  13. Hi There,

is there a possibility to get these wonderfull themes working on the new 3.52 M33 custom firmware?
    Woulod be very much appreciated!

    Thanks a lot,

  15. Christian, I’ll look into getting these icons converted over to 3.52 M33. The problem is I’m not using that firmware version myself, so I’ll have to look into getting the converted themes tested.

    Cheers

  21. Hey dude
    ur site is damn cool
u got any idea how to putthe damn .rar files into my psp 3.71 whenever i put the .rar themes it never works so please put up .ptf themes.
    rock on

  22. Siddharth on March 28th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
  23. Siddharth, these aren’t ptf themes, they are designed for using with custom firmware, where you can flash the PSP system directly.

The rar files are the same as zip files – use winrar to uncompress them.
