WipEout Pure is still my favourite PSP racing game, which is both good and bad, considering its one of the first PSP games I got.

The fact that it is so good means that other games have got to try harder to match its style and pace, the downside is that its been well over 12 months and nothing has really come that close, other than Ridge Racer, another game that has been around for ages.

I think we can split the racing genre down into out-and-out racers (WipEout Pure, Ridge Racer, WRC, F1), rpg'esq games (GTA, Test Drive Unlimited), Arcade (Eliminator, Burnout, OutRun) and Driving (need For Speed series etc).

The pure racing genre is a little thin on the ground, and other than Ridge Racer 2, had nothing of real note released in the last 12 months.

I have WipeOut Pure.. and all I can say is: a Breath-taking game..
It's also nice to test how the buttons work together in the PSP as you utilize every single button while playing that game.
