Sony gives away 100 HD TV’s to patient PS3 buyers

In a shocking case of Sony actually creating some good publicity for once, the company gave away over 100 HD-TV’s to those people who queued up all night to be the first to get their hands on the PS3 in the UK.

If you were lucky enough to have been standing in the queue at the Virign Megastore in London, waiting for the midnight hour to arrive, you were treated to free drinks while you waited, and then as an extra special present, you got a Sony HD-TV (approx £2,500GBP worth) and a free taxi ride home with your new PS3 and High Definition television.

You can get the full coverage on this over at the BBC, I just wish it had been me in that queue.

  1. That’s cool, but are sure about the ‘free taxi ride’ thing?! :D

  2. From the BBC site :

“How much is this costing Sony?” he asked.

The answer was about £250,000 and that did not include the free taxi ride home each and every person was receiving.

So yes, I’m fairly sure (as sure as you can be, reading something on the web) :D
