The Sony Blog has come out and categorically stated that there has been no official statement regarding a PSP2 being in development, nor any comment on whether it will have a phone built into it.

As stated here, SCEA’s resident PSP guru, John Koller has made it clear that any talk about a PSP2 is purely speculation. Which probably means we’ll hear about an official release sometime in the near future!

While its nice to hear officially that there has been no official announcement about the PSP2, it nevertheless doesn’t rule out the probability that its in development. It just not officially acknowledged. Officially.

I get the feeling whenever I write about something on the Sony Blog, I’m going to be using the word ‘officially’ quite a lot.
