If you are the kind of person who likes free things for your PSP, and you’ve got a wi-fi connection nearby, you may want to point your PSP webbrowser in the direction of the FlashGameFans PSP website.

The site is formatted to fit nicely on your PSP screen, and contains nearly 7000 free flash games for you to play. I’ve not personally tried them all out, but I’m sure there must be at least one or two decent ones on there.

So, if you’ve run out of enthusiasm to play another level on Syphon Filter, or drive another lap on Burnout: Dominator, then maybe a few flash games will get your interest going.

Sony have released another firmware revision for the Sony PSP. This time its version 3.72, and it adds the following functionality to the system:

Support for PLAYSTATION Network titles have been expanded.
Support has been added for [Remote Start]* of the PS3 system under [Remote Play].
Sequential playback of videos saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media is now supported.
The home menu color, background and icons for XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) will change, based on the theme that is selected.
Scene search – You can now search for a scene when playing a movie that is saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media.

*To use this feature, the PS3 system software must be version 2.00 or later. For detailed information about [Remote Start], visit the PS3 Help & Support section at eu.playstation.com and select Connecting to other devices in the General Guides area.

These seem like fairly minor changes to the system software, but does indicate that there will be a new PS3 firmware out soon.

As always, be mindful of trying to upgrade if you are running a custom firmware version, as its unlikely to work correctly.

Looks like PS3 owners who get their hands on Gran Turismo 5 will be able to download episodes of the popular UK motoring programme Top Gear, direct from GT TV, a new service aimed to provide third-party content on the PS3 version of GT5 (using the online network).

Other motoring news and content will also be provided via the GT TV station, adding an extra layer of desireability to the GT franchise.

Gamers will be able to download episodes of BBC Two show Top Gear inside video game Gran Turismo 5.

Forty episodes of the popular motoring show will be available on a dedicated Gran Turismo TV channel accessed via the PlayStation 3’s online network.

Gran Turismo is the world’s most popular racing video game series, with more than 47 million copies sold.

The test track used by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond will be recreated inside GT5.

Virtual drivers will be able to race the hundreds of cars licensed inside the game around the track featured in the show.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is due for release in 2008. GT TV will also feature news and features about the motoring world.

“We’re sure that players will be as thrilled as we are when they get the chance to put their own driving skills to the test on the Top Gear Test Track in GT5, as well as enjoying classic episodes of Top Gear via GT TV,” said Kazunori Yamauchi, president of the game’s developers Polyphony Digital, in a statement.

Simon Danker, director of digital media at BBC Worldwide said: “We’re thrilled to make Top Gear accessible to Gran Turismo gamers.”
