PSPCulture | A Blog about the Sony PSP

Its been a while….

Its been a while since I’ve posted any news here on pspculture. There have been a number of reasdons for this, so I thought I’d write a few down and let you know whats going on!

While I still love my PSP and I use it pretty much everyday, I’ve been busy with other projects so haven’t had the time to keep this site upto date. Added to this is a shortage of any real news to post – the homebrew scene is ticking over, there isn’t much left to hack in regards to the PSP firmware, and there is only a trickle of new games coming through that remotely interest me.

I could keep posting bits and peices from the PSP scene, but to be honest I’d rather post infrequently when there is quality news than daily when the news resource just isn’t there.

In other news, I’ve bought a Nintendo Wii, which is fulfilling a gap in our home family entertainment. I’ve yet to buy any games other than the one it came with, but I’m looking forward to trying some new titles on it, including the Wii verison of PES2008, which looks like it may be good fun. You may be wondering why we went for a Wii over a PS3 or xBox360, but the decision in the end came down to its fantastic ability to bring all members of the family together to enjoy the gaming experience, something which the PS3 and xBox360 don’t appear to do particularly well. While I know the single player (or online multiplayer) experience on the PS3 and xBox360 would be great, its does at the cost of excluding family members from joining in the fun.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this, and be sure to check back regularly to see if I’ve managed to write a PSP related news article….

One Response to “Its been a while….”

  1. Hi again Dave! I’ve been checking regularly, but here’s a new post, finally!
I agree though about not posting when there’s nothing new.

Good to hear about you having bought a Wii. I think it would be fun for the family as you’ve said. I was thinking about getting a game console (but changed my mind due to time limits) and a Nintendo DS (I changed my mind also because I found all the games to be GBA clones which I own), so I’m stuck with the PSP. Let’s see what they’ll come up with, hopefully soon!

NOTE: If you are asking a PSP related question, please state your firmware version, as this will usually impact on the response you get. Please also state whether you are an experienced PSP owner or new to the PSP scene, as this will determine the level of detail in any answer I may provide. Thanks, Dave.
