Interesting article picked up on Edge detailing the fact that all kids (aged between 8 and 17) want for Christmas these days is new game for their shiny console.

Not sure I’d limit it to just those in that age group – plenty of grown ups I know wouldn’t think twice about putting a game or two on their list to Santa this year.

Hotest games on the list this year are -

• Guitar Hero World Tour: 17 percent
• Rock Band II: 15 percent
• Mario Kart: 12 percent
• Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party II: 11 percent

Seems that the new age of gaming is really showing now, with 3 of the 4 listed being based around music. The days when the wish-list was dominated by Quake, Unreal, Half-Life and their modern day counterparts is diminishing as gaming becomes more of a mainstream activity, moving away from the dark bedrooms of the 14 to 17 year old males.
