PSP Owners Christmas Shopping List for 2008

Its getting to that time of year again, when people are either asking you what you want for Christmas, or you need to buy something for that PSP owner in your life.

I’ve listed here 5 things that would make an ideal present for anyone who is into their PSP. Heck, its a list of 5 things I’d quite like myself. Prices range from the cheap to the not so cheap, but even the new PSP-300 retailing at £140 seems like a good deal to me, given that I paid nearer £200 for my PSP two years ago.

1. PSP-3000 with Fifa09

Featuring a new LCD screen that has 5 times the contrast ratio compared with the PSP-2000, a built in microphone, and an improved AV output for better refresh rates on the TV, the new PSP-3000 under the tree this Christmas would make any PSP owner happy. Especially if they are still using their PSP-1000 (PSP fat).

Sony PSP 3000 with FIFA 09 RRP Approx £139.99

2. Gof of War, Chains of Olympus

Christmas Gifts for the PSP owner - God of War

One of the best games for the PSP if hacking, slashing and gore is your thing. Graphically splendid, this game really shows off the PSP capabilities. Buy it with the PSP-3000 to really show off those colours.

God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP) RRP Approx £13.99

3. Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

Another game that really shows off the PSP’s abilities. Very lovely looking game, and great gameplay, although its let down by some very bad voice over audio. Anyone who has played the FF franchise will feel quite at home with this game, although the combat system has evolved so its not quite as easy to jump staight in. Well worth the effort.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core RRP Approx £17.99

4. Logitech Speakers

Christmas Gifts for the PSP owner - Logitech Speakers

A nice docking station for the PSP, ideal for watching movies and TV. While the speakers aren’t going to rock out like an Apple iPod touch 32GB and the Harman Kardon – Go & Play – High Performance iPod Speaker System, but for the price, you can’t complain.

Logitech Speakers (PSP) RRP Approx £14.99

5. 8GB MemoryStick Pro Duo

Christmas Gifts for the PSP owner - 8GB Pro Duo

Just what every PSP owner wants, a nice big Memory Stick Pro Duo to store hours of music, movies, homebrew and artwork. The price of genuine Memory Stick Pro Duo’s is coming down all the time, 2 years ago a 4GB card was costing £80, so an 8GB at half that price is a steal.

SanDisk Ultra II 8GB MemoryStick Pro Duo RRP Approx £37.45

Is there anything on your Christmas list that I’ve not included here? If so, let me know in the comments and I’ll add them to the list.

  1. Nice list you have there!! But if I have all of them already, what else would be my Christmas or X-mas shopping list?
