PSP Firmware 4.01 (and 4.01M33) Released

Blink and you’ll miss it time - Sony have been busy and released an update to the recent firmware 4.00 release, taking the version to 4.01 (they obviously dislike having whole number releases being out for too long).

The 4.01 firmware release includes the following:

Display of search results under Internet Search has been improved for certain languages.
Playback of video content under Video has been improved for certain file types.

So, nothing particularly exciting there then.

However, Dark Alex and the M33 team have released a 4.01M33 version of this firmware (now with the 1.50 kernel add-on for PSP phat users, and a release 2 for the main code which fixes a couple of bugs) which is good news for all those PSP owners running a custom firmware who want to reamin current with their PSP functionality.

The update to the M33 version of 4.01 is available via the network update on the PSP (if you are using a custom firmware later than 3.80M33), or alternatively via the Dark Alex website.
