PSP Game - Monster Hunter Freedom sells half a million copies

Perhaps one of the most eagerly awaited PSP games outside of Japan, Monster Hunter Freedom has become the largest selling PSP game to date in the Japanese charts.

Selling over half a million copies, the game is proving to be a huge hit with the Japanese market, and bodes well for its prospects in the rest of the world when its released in May. Of course using the Japanese market as a guage for the likelyhood of a game becoming big over here doesn’t neccessarily work, as gaming tastes have been proved to be different enough that some games just don’t take off over here like they have in Japan.

Having said that, it seems Monster Hunter Freedom is generating some talk in the PSP forums, so it looks like quite a few people are holding out for the May release date.
